Sintered NdFeB magnet was invented in 1983. Its main
componets are iron and Nd, a rare-earth element. It
is, and probably for a long time in future will still
be, a permanent magnet with the best magnetic properties.
Its Max-Energy-Product, with a theoretical value as
high as 527KJ/M3, is 5-12 times bigger than that of
ferrite magnet and 3 -10 times bigger than that of ALCoNi.
It is widely used in mineral separators, cranes, packers,
magnetic buttons and etc.

Sintered ferrite magnet has a much longer history
than NdFeB. There are mainly two kinds of it, Ba0.6
Fe2 O3 and Sr0.6 Fe2 O3. It is cheap, erosion-enduring,
easily manufactured and processed. It has a big Coercive
value, being hard to be demangnetized. It can be homogenous
or inhomogenous. It is widely used in loudspeakers,
electromotors and etc. main advantages include

Flexible magnet is made up of ferrite powders and
rubber. Like sinter ferrit magnet, it can be homogenous
or inhomogenous. It is flexible, cheap and easy to
be cut, widly used in toys, teaching aids, decorating
materials and seals.

Injected ferrite magnet is made up of ferrite powder
and polymers. It can have very fine size and complicated
shapes, widely used in high-precision electromotors.

ALCoNi is made up of Al, Ni, Co, Cu, Fe, Ti and some
other materials. It can be made via cast and sinter.
The casted one has better properties while the sintered
one is easily made and can be directly press into
various shapes in need. It is heat-tolerant(400¡æ),
widely used in all kinds of meters in aero-industry.

SmCo magnet has also two kinds, £¨Sm1Co5£©and (Sm2Co17).
It is heat-tolerant (up to 250-350¡æ), widely used
in permanent electromotors, suitable for adverse ciucumstances.
